PRINTS: Shanghai Corners

I have been creating a series of linocut prints that attempt to capture the essence of life and the human scale of activities in the distinctive old areas of Shanghai.

As one develops a routine, these places develop a nostalgic fondness in our minds. From the open front shops selling all types of items and food to the street pancake shop that serves breakfast to the neighborhood, to the bars and restaurants where time is spent with friends. These prints attempt to capture the essence of what it is like to live here and serve as a remembrance of it.
